Team Squash
We are about to complete the Summer Season and our only team in this competition is in with a strong chance of winning Division 5 as we go into the last round of games. This is nice as we have struggled to raise a team at times due to availability.
On that note the Thursday night Winter Leagues start on September 12th and the Vets League on September 30th. We have two teams on Thursday one in Div 5 and the other in Div 3. We have one Vets Team in Div 2.
We are short of players in the teams currently as we have lost a few recently and those left are not getting any younger. If you are interested or know anyone who may be interested in playing please give them a shout for us. The intention is that we will actively try to blood some new players in the 2nd Team and develop from there.
In truth we could do with a couple of new players for the 1st Team to increase the squad size to cover for injuries and unavailability. Matches are fortnightly so the commitment is not excessive albeit it seems to come round quite quickly.
Speak to any of us if you want to try it although please be aware the standard can be a step up so the first step is to get yourself in the Box Leagues and work your way up the Leagues.
Marking Course
Berkshire Squash are running a Marking Course at Burghfield on Saturday 5th October. The link is attached below if you are interested or go on their Web site. I recommend it strongly as a great way to learn the rules and how to call a match if you ever need to.
