Revised Light and Booking charges From 1st June 2019 by

L&G’s,

It has been around 15/20 years since we last increased the prices at the Squash Club.

Although we are solvent there is more we would like to do to keep the Squash Club offering competitive quality wise with other facilities locally. So we have reluctantly concluded it is time to increase the charges.

Currently to book a Court is £1.50 and the lights are 50p for 8 minutes, a total cost of £4 for a 40 minute booked game. The intention is to change the coin meters out for £1 coin mechanisms keeping the time allocation at 8 minutes. A court booking will reduce to £1 making an overall cost of a booked game £6 or £3 each instead of £2. The changeover date is 1st June so stop saving 50ps and start saving £1 coins. I realise with the short armed, deep pocketed players we have there will now be a rush to get all of your games in by 1st June, it was ever thus…..

On the Squash Club Committee agenda for improvement:-

A larger tank for the hot water – A tough one plumbing wise but we are on it currently and quotes are due in. Team players will all know the problem and we want to fix it.
A chilled fresh water dispenser in the hall.
Some repairs to the floor boards on the Courts.
The Court fan heaters wiring needs renewing: it blew at the end of the heating season and will not work again until re wired.
New flooring in the showers in the Ladies.
A new floor in the Gents changing area. Current one dates from the late 1980’s so we have had our fair use out of it.

In short there is a bit to do currently and we need to be able to pay for it. We want to be part of an environment that works well, is suitable and enables our players and teams to thrive.

As ever any issues please speak to me or any of the Committee.

I hope to see you soon, I’m just off to book all of my Box matches before the price rises occur……

Regards

Richard May
