Please be advised that the Burghfield Squash Club Court 2 Front Wall has finally been found and the installation company have promised to install it on site on Monday 20th November.
Installation is due to start at 8am on Monday 20th and I don’t have a completion time as yet but it should be ok to resume playing the following evening. The Court will be removed from the booking system for this period.
As you are aware this was due to happen in September however in transit from New York the court wall was allegedly misplaced somewhere in Rotterdam. I think The Beautiful South had a song about this anyhow it is all behind us now and we hope to be suitably impressed with the quieter version of the non plaster front wall anytime soon.
Saturday 23rd December – Christmas Handicap Santa Hat special
We will once more hold one of our handicap competitions on the Saturday 23rd December from 5.30pm instead of Club night. We will do a giant rolling round robin using the usual devious handicap system devised by Brian and I on the basis of where you are in the League and whether we like you or not plus deductions for non red and white Christmas attire, or a Santa Hat and there will be prizes. As ever it isn’t entirely serious and will be followed by a glass of sherry or egg nog in the bar…. Brian and I are entirely impartial however for a glass of Doombar and a mince pie your chances can probably be greatly improved!
Everyone is welcome on the day, entry will be £2 and we will make it work one way or another whether 2/3 or 23 people turn up.
