Squash Stars Course at Burghfield Squash Club

At Burghfield we are combining with and supporting Berkshire Squash in the roll out of the England Squash Stars programme. The next series of this roll out locally is commencing shortly and there are some spaces on the programme if you are interested. I attach below the briefing on the programme and the contact number for Simon Street from Berkshire Squash if you want to speak to anyone.

What is Squash Stars?
Aimed at 5-11 year olds, Squash Stars is our new junior programme and will build fundamental skills and confidence, encouraging children to ‘reach for the stars’ on and off the squash court. This six-week junior beginner’s programme focuses on guiding children to collect stardust in skills such as hand-eye coordination, racket work, movement, balance and match play. The more stardust they have, the brighter they’ll shine! Each Squash Stars session is led by our trained leader, and will give your child the chance to explore, play, and make friends in a fun and safe setting.

What does your Squash Star get?
You will be pleased to learn that Berkshire Squash are paying for all the coaching provided. However, you will need to pay England Squash for some equipment. For just £42, your star will get six coaching sessions and a kit bag which includes a racket, ball, Squash Stars t-shirt and a pair of goggles – sent straight to your door. Hopefully you will agree this is excellent value for money?

What courses are available?

We are pleased to provide 3 courses on both Tuesday’s and Thursdays, commencing on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th September 2022. We will be offering sessions at 3:40pm, 4:20pm and 5:00pm on both days. Ideally, we would like to encourage parents to book their child on the appropriate age group (summarised below). However, if you have a time issue please contact me and we will see if we can accommodate your child in another group.

3:40pm - Years 1 & 2

5:00pm - Years 5 & 6

Please note that step 3 of the application process is normally the payment stage. However, as the only charge is levied by England Squash for the equipment, this stage is blank and you will be emailed a separate payment link once your child has been accepted for the course.
