Limited Return of Club Night – From Saturday 29th May

In response to my previous note about re opening we have had some positive feedback about the Box Leagues and Club Night and there is clearly a desire to re start these.

I will write separately about the Box Leagues and explain how we are going to do that.

For Club Night the main issue for us currently is that we have to limit numbers in the Squash Club in line with Government guidance and ensure there is adequate social distancing which is actually assisted by doing this. This effectively precludes a free for all which was always the original intention of Club Night, however, the broader aim was to give players the opportunity to play and meet other people and as a side benefit get to know them and their respective levels.

So the compromise we will trial from Saturday 29th May is as follows.

Club Night is only available for 8 players and they must book a Court on line between 5pm to 7.20pm on the Saturday inclusive to attend.

• This will minimise anyone on the balcony to 4 maximum.
• Please change prior to arriving to minimise time in the Changing Rooms.
• Stagger the leaving times to minimise people in the Changing Rooms to a maximum of 2 at any one time.
• Where practical to go home to shower and change but only if that is sensibly doable. There will be legitimate reasons why this doesn’t work sometimes and this is accepted.
• To use the potions, lotions and gels to sterilise themselves and the environment before and after playing.

If you are not one of the booked 8 players on the night you are not able to turn up as logistically we cannot maintain the required social distancing without the limited numbers.

This is a trial. If there are any concerns we will amend or postpone the arrangement.

If after the next stage of the lock down relaxation we can revert to a more informal arrangement we will do so but for now this is the best we can do with the facilities and space available to us.
