Berkshire Squash Winter Leagues 2022/23

The new Berkshire Squash Winter Leagues start on Thursday 15th September. Home matches are fortnightly thereafter.

Finally, after the interruption of the pandemic, we are going back to having two Thursday night Teams in the Berkshire Leagues and a Vets Team that plays on a Monday. (Vets is Over 45 for Men and 40 for Ladies).

Regrettably, we have lost a few players since we last had two teams not through anything nebulous but the usual churn of people moving away or succumbing to injury. However, as Sir Alex has said a person missing is always an opportunity for someone else to step up and make the shirt their own.

So we are looking for some new talent to fill the 2nd Team. If you are interested the 1st Team is run by Paul Forbes and play in Division 3 and the 2nd Team is run by myself and will start in the bottom League Division 5.

I will be writing to some folk who have distinguished themselves by climbing the Box Leagues and inviting them to have a go and lurking in the changing rooms looking for folk with matching kit, up turned collars and an air of insouciance. Alright anyone that can play….

If you are interested in playing please don’t be shy, my contact details are quoted below and Paul’s number is 07775698402.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously and after matches retire to the bar for a meal and a drink with the evil opposition and a post match de brief. I’m always a much better player in the bar through my beer glasses…

I hope to hear from you.

Regards

Richard May
